I want to be the talk of the town,

The one whose name is always found

On everyone's lips, all day long,

In every conversation, every song.

I want to be the star of the show,

The one whose light always glows,

In every room, every hall,

In every moment, big or small.

My ego knows no bounds,

Narcissism always surrounds

Me and my desperate need,

To be recognized for every deed.

But as I bask in the spotlight's shine,

I realize it's not worth the climb,

The cost of fame, the toll I pay,

Is my own self-worth, day by day.

So I'll let go of this vanity,

And embrace my own humanity,

For true happiness is found,

In being humble, and not renowned.
