What is the meaning of Self Actualization for people and how do they define it?
If we examine lay perceptions of self-actualization; we find that people view the fundamental motive of status-seeking as being strongly reflected in their anticipated self-actualization.
This means people believe that a Self Actualized person is a person who has a higher status in a society.
The meaning of Self Actualization is also equated with academic achievement and success in recognized fields of endeavor (Kerr, 1985; Reis & Callahan, 1989;Walker et al., 1992).
