The darkness of schizophrenia,

it can feel like a prison,

leaving its victims broken and alone.

II

A mind that’s been fractured and torn,

no one can comprehend the pain it brings,

even those closest to them can’t understand.

III

The voices inside their heads,

they never go away,

constantly tormenting and berating.

IV

The fear of the unknown,

of what lies around the corner,

of the next thought or delusion.

V

The paranoia that comes with it,

the lack of trust in others,

the worry of being judged.

VI

The hallucinations that seem so real,

the confusion of what’s real and what’s not,

the feeling of being lost and alone.

VII

The inability to concentrate,

the lack of motivation and energy,

the feeling of being overwhelmed.

VIII

The sadness and despair,

the feeling of being stuck,

the longing for a better life.

IX

The struggle to find help,

the fear of the stigma,

the feeling of being misunderstood.

X

The courage it takes to fight,

the strength to keep going,

the hope that one day it will end.

XI

The courage to seek help,

the strength to face the darkness,

the hope that one day it will be gone.

XII

The courage to speak out,

the strength to keep fighting,

the hope that one day it will be over.
