Laymen equate insecurities with the state or condition of being unsafe or posing a risk. Being at risk or self doubt.Anxiety and fear of something that might happen. Sometimes insecurities are legitimate and some time they are perceived.

  • A girl grew up without her father. Her father married another woman and left his fist wife because she was not pretty. That little girl grows up to be insecure about her appearances. She was insecure and did not trust men.

     

    A daughter in law was constantly bullied in her home because of her homemaking skills. In fact, she was gaslighted again and again and she was made fun of. She was told, she was a slob. She tried and tried. She left her career, stayed her home. She tried to make everyone happy. But she was told she was not good enough. Her husband could have married someone better.

    That daughter in law in insecure about her   marriage, her efforts. She in insecure about her  relationship with her husband. She is even insecure about her kids.  Thanks to her brutal in-laws and their detrimental gaslighting.

A person might be careful while making friends because she/she have been betrayed in the past.
