ADHD and masking behavior, a skill we've learned,

To hide our symptoms, to avoid being spurned.

We act like we're fine, like we're in control,

But inside we're struggling, like a sinking shoal.

We've learned to cope, to pretend we're okay,

To hide our symptoms, to get through the day.

We mask our hyperactivity, our impulsivity too,

To fit in, to be accepted, to make it through.

We put on a façade, to hide our racing thoughts,

To keep our emotions, from being overly wrought.

We try to be normal, to blend in with the crowd,

But inside we're different, our minds are too loud.

It's a burden we carry, a constant fight,

To mask our behavior, every single night.

We're afraid to be judged, to be labeled as strange,

So we hide our quirks, our uniqueness we exchange.

But we must remember, we're not alone,

ADHD is a part of us, a different tone.

We should embrace our symptoms, our ADHD mind,

For it's what makes us, a unique kind.

So let's break down the mask, let our true selves shine,

For ADHD is not a flaw, but a gift that's divine.

We should be proud, of who we are,

Our ADHD minds, forever a shining star.
