Why do I have to prove myself,

Every single time to myself and others?

Is it because I'm not good enough?

Is it because I'm too afraid to be bolder?

I want to show the world what I can do,

But why do I have to prove myself to you?

Is it because I want to be accepted?

Or is it because I'm too scared to be rejected?

Verse 3

I want to make a difference,

But why do I have to prove myself again and again?

Is it because I'm not confident enough?

Or is it because I'm too scared to be tough?

I want to make a mark,

But why do I have to prove myself to the dark?

Is it because I'm not brave enough?

Or is it because I'm too scared to be tough?

I want to make a change,

But why do I have to prove myself all the same?

Is it because I'm not strong enough?

Or is it because I'm too scared to take a stand?

Verse 6

I want to be successful,

But why do I have to prove myself so restlessly?

Is it because I'm not smart enough?

Or is it because I'm too scared to take a risk?

I want to be respected,

But why do I have to prove myself so much?

Is it because I'm not worthy enough?

Or is it because I'm too scared to be loved?

I want to be appreciated,

But why do I have to prove myself every day?

Is it because I'm not worthy enough?

Or is it because I'm too scared to be loved?

I want to be seen,

But why do I have to prove myself endlessly?

Is it because I'm not worthy enough?

Or is it because I'm too scared to be seen?

I want to be heard,

But why do I have to prove myself every day?

Is it because I'm not capable enough?

Or is it because I'm too scared to speak up?

I want to be accepted,

But why do I have to prove myself so often?
