OVERCOMPENSATION (POEM)

 Verse 1

We all want to be seen, to be heard, to be loved

So we overcompensate, we try to fill the void

We put on a show, trying to mask our insecurities

But no amount of effort can surpass our vulnerabilities

Verse 2

We often try to be more than we are

To make up for what we lack, we strive for the stars

But in the end, it's all just a facade

And our true selves remain hidden, never to be seen by the crowd

Verse 3

We try to build a tower, to reach the highest peak

But the foundation is shaky and the walls are weak

We try to be the best, but we can't compete

The harder we try, the further we retreat

Verse 4

We overcompensate, hoping to be accepted

But in the end, it's all just a mirage

We can never fill the void, no matter how hard we try

We must learn to accept ourselves and be content with who we are
