I JUST WANT TO BE ME, IS THIS TOO MUCH TOO ASK? (POEM)

I just want to be me,

Is this too much to ask?

My identity is mine alone,

My thoughts, my feelings, I must own.

My choices I must make with care,

My actions, my life, I must share.

No one else can decide for me,

My journey is mine, and mine alone to see.

I will not be defined by what others say,

My path is unique, and I will not be swayed.

My sense of self is so strong and true,

I will not be someone else, that I do not know.

My life is my own, I will not be a clone,

My heart and mind, I must hone.

My voice I will use, my own words I will choose,

My life is a story, I will not be abused.

I will not be made to fit into a mold,

My life I will live, I will not be controlled.

My decisions I will make, my will I will take,

My life I will live, and no one else will make.

My dreams I will pursue, my passions I will choose,

My life I will live, no one else will use.

My thoughts I will express, my feelings I will confess,

My life I will live, I will not be oppressed.

I will not be bound by the expectations of others,

My life is my own, and I will be the author.

My choices I will make, my life I will take,

My life is my own, and I will not be fake.

My life is my own, I will not be shown,

My journey I will take, I will not be thrown.

My life I will live, I will not be given,

My life is my own, and I will not be driven.

I just want to be me,

Is this too much to ask?

My identity is mine alone,

My thoughts, my feelings, I must own.
