I HAVE TO FACE MY DEMONS FIRST (POEM)

 I have to face my demons, first!

I must confront them, no matter the cost

To do this I must be brave and strong

To face my fears and move along

I have to face my demons, first!

The ones that lurk in the depths of my mind

The monsters that lurk in the shadows of my soul

The ones that I have kept hidden for so long

I have to face my demons, first!

The ones I have been running away from

The ones that I have been too scared to confront

The ones that I have been trying to ignore

I have to face my demons, first!

To take back my power and my life

To move forward and not be held back

To finally be free of the darkness that has held me captive

I have to face my demons, first!

To accept who I am and what I have done

To let go of the guilt and shame

To forgive myself and move on

I have to face my demons, first!

To learn to trust myself and others again

To learn to love and be loved

To learn to live a life of joy and peace

I have to face my demons, first!

To be the person I was meant to be

To find the courage to take the first step

To finally be free from the darkness that has held me captive.
